Lonely vs alone

People these days are confusing being alone with being lonely or vice a versa. One might be alone but not lonely. Rather being surrounded with wrong people, might make you lonely.
I feel lost and lonely amongst two faced and superficial people and I feel complete and happy amongst my close and simple friends. It is overwhelming to be a part of the tribe or herd. Owning yourself on the other hand is a great experience. People fight their loneliness by being part of big crowd and they get even more lost, empty and depressed. Have simple relations, few genuine friends, not facebook friends or just friends with whom you pose in pictures. Have friends who are your 4AM friends, who you can call at any time of the day or night, who are there for you when you are sick and in bed not just to party with you. There is no need to "fit in", to be "seen at", to "be a part of", feel the need "to be accepted". Whom and what are you trying to prove? Is it even worth proving? Does anyone actually care? And if you really want to prove anything to anyone, prove that you do have a single genuine friend. That is a bigger achievement than proving that you can be seen at 10 social do's , stand with 20 fake faces and pose in 40 pictures. At the end of the day, it is not how many friends you have that matter. It is the quality of your friends that is more important. Having few true friends is better than having many artificial ones. Fake friends are easy to find and easy to loose but real friends are hardest to find and hardest to loose. True friends are like diamonds- precious and rare. False friends are like autumn leaves- scattered everywhere. For once try being yourself, without any hang ups. For once have a real and true friend who is understanding, caring, non judgemental. Have a soul mate. Someone you care for and who cares for you. Then you would neither be lonely nor alone ever.

Blood is thicker than water

They say blood is thicker than water.
Then how is it that even if you are not my own blood,
your heart has more love for me than my own blood.
When I was down and out, you held me.
They say a child learns to walk holding the hands of his parents.
Then how is it that I learnt to walk holding your hands.
They say a mother gives birth to a child.
Then how is it that you gave me my life?
They say a bird teaches its young one how to fly
Then how is it that you gave me my wings to fly?
They say that only a mother's heart can understand what her child goes through.
But when I was down and out,
when I could not walk,
when I was screaming with pain,
when I needed help for every possible thing
to move, to turn, to talk, to dream,
you two were there for me.
You two are not my own blood.
But you are the only ones who cared for me.
When I was in pain, I saw the pain in your eyes.
I gave up but you never let me.
You were my steadfast support.
You two were the only witnesses of my tears.
You empathized with me.
You were cognizant of my agony.
You prayed for me and held me.
And today I do not know how to thank you.
Saying thank you would never be enough.
But because of you, I walk again,
I pursue my dream
I live again
I would not have survived it alone.
You gave me a new life.
You stopped living your life.
And took care of me the way a mother takes care of a child when he/she is sick-
completely, whole heartedly, selflessly, day and night.
No. Blood is not thicker than water.
When two souls care and love,
they surpass all bondings.

There is nothing more terrifying for a dancer than a feeling that she will not be able to dance again.
I owe it to my husband and my dear friend for holding me up when I could not walk.
The two of them held me, took care of me and are the only ones because of whom I continue my journey henceforth.
They say- a friend in need is a friend indeed. If you have one friend, who is there for you in time of your need, consider yourself most fortunate. I AM.

Vintage dress revisited

I wore this vintage dress again today. Earlier, I have worn it here. It is 25 year old.

Birthday of a dear friend

She is a very dear friend. We have known each other for years and share a special bonding. She is a high profile lawyer and also a fitness freak. But above all, she is a great person with a heart of gold.
For her Birthday, it was a sit down dinner with a group of close knit friends, bonding over intelligent conversation in Sevilla, Claridges. They serve great sangrias (the best one in town) and fabulous tapas and churros that melt your mouth.

I am a wearing Ritu Kumar tunic.

My fuschia sweater

Showing my new sweater, which is part of my Christmas gifts that my friend gave me. I am wearing it on top of a dress from Marks and Spencer, that I have earlier worn here and here. It is a good idea to wear a sweater or maybe a top over a dress. The dress gets a totally new and fresh look. It looks like a skirt.
Heels: From my brand- Mis Amores. I manufacture and sell these.

Our dinner time together in Megu, Leela.

Relaxed 26th January

Just chilling at home with a friend. A National holiday spent laughing and chit chatting.
