Things to do and see in Leh Ladakh

Day 2: While still taking it easy and acclimatising, I visited Spituk Monastery, Kali Mata, Pather
Sahib, Magnetic hill, Sangam- Confluence of Zanskar- Indus River. Magnetic Hill is a gravity hill located 15 km from Leh towards Kargil. The hill is alleged to have magnetic properties strong enough to pull the car uphill and force passing Aircraft to increase their altitude in order to escape magnetic interference.
The place that touched my heart the most was Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame Leh is a museum constructed and maintained by the Indian army in memory of the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the Indo-Pak wars. It was hard for me to hold my tears there. It made me realise what tough conditions our soldiers live in and bravely give their lives for their country and countrymen.

The Hall of Fame situated at Leh has topped the list of five Indian museums which figured among the 25 best museums in Asia. It was established at Leh in 1986 to showcase the valour, sacrifice and achievements of Indian Army in various operations in Ladakh. In addition to this, it also displays culture and heritage of the region.Recently, they upgraded and expanded the Hall of Fame Complex had been done to include war memorial, war cemetery and adventure park and rededicate these monuments to the people of Ladakh. The aim was to further heighten the viewing impact and leave an indelible impression on visitors with a view to enhancing the image of Indian Army and soldiers of Ladakh. A narrative on the rich and colourful cultural heritage of Ladakh as well as the heart-wrenching sacrifice made by Indian soldiers over the past two decades in their fight against terror and infiltration.
