Lovely Times with My Children at ATE Omakase, Gurugram
Some afternoons stay with us not because they were planned as a grand occasion, but because of the people sitting across the table. My visit to ATE Omakase in Gurugram with my children was one of those lovely, unhurried times that I wanted to hold on to.
The restaurant felt bright, contemporary and welcoming, with warm wooden details, large windows and a relaxed energy. We settled in, ordered colourful chilled drinks and took our time choosing food. Soon the table was full, and so was the conversation.
What I enjoyed most was the simple rhythm of being together—sharing bites, comparing our choices, laughing, and watching the children take photographs before anyone could disturb the beautifully presented plates. There is something especially precious about these ordinary family moments. As children grow and life becomes busier, a meal together becomes less about the restaurant and more about having everyone in one place, fully present.
Our dishes arrived looking generous and comforting, and the bright drinks added a playful touch to the table. Between conversations and photographs, the afternoon moved at just the right pace. Nothing felt rushed. We could sit back, enjoy the food and simply catch up.
The dessert display was difficult to ignore, with rows of beautiful treats tempting us through the glass. Yet the sweetest part of the outing was already there: the laughter, the easy conversation and the joy of spending time with my children.
ATE Omakase gave us a lovely setting for a family afternoon in Gurugram, but it is the candid moments I will remember—the smiles across the table, the photographs being taken, and the warm feeling of being together.
These are the days that quietly become treasured memories. I returned home feeling grateful for good food, a beautiful space, and, most of all, precious time with my children.
