I used to always miss wearing sarees when I had to wear tango dresses. For the clarity of the leg movements in tango, generally, dresses are recommended. Then I had an idea. I used to wear a short saree in Kathak and Odissi dance and a different drape in Bharatnatyam. I wanted to give it a try at the 4th Delhi International Tango festival. You can see more pictures of it here and here. I am also putting videos of me dancing the tango in a saree.
It is the same chiffon saree that I have previously worn here but with a different halter blouse. This blouse, I had previously worn with a Banarasi saree here.
My Kamarband (waist belt) is actually a necklace. I had worn it previously here too. The look was complete with a gajra (jasmine flowers in the hair). For me, there is nothing better than a saree and a gajra. Add tango also to it and life could not be better.
