Chettinad saree

There were times when one would go to a saree shop and do saree shopping. Pick up whatever the shop had and come back with a bag full of shopping. Times have changed today. One comes across on social media what others are wearing, learns the names of different weaves and aspires to add them to the personal collection. Then begins the hunt for a particular weave, again online. One places the order online, waits for the courier to come home and opens a packet with anticipation. It may or may not meet your expectation. Sometimes you have the option to return and sometimes not.
I had been reading so many saree aficionados rave about Chettinad cotton sarees- especially how well behaved these are. I was on a lookout for one. I chose this online. Actually, this was bought on Amazon and is a product of Unnati silks. It is reasonably priced. But I am not head over heels in love with it. Maybe my expectations were too high after seeing many saree enthusiasts sing praises of it. For me, it is not the most well-behaved saree. I don't think I will add more Chettinad to my collection. I paired it with my sister's sweater.
